We would like to tell the story of Cudham Environmental Activities Centre, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024. We are looking to collate, interpret and share the history of the Centre - its people, landscape, buildings & activities. The Centre has always focused on its work with young people and has never formally captured its heritage, until now! We will engage volunteers, of all ages, to collect and catalogue documents, badges and other memorabilia associated with the Centre. Volunteers will also be trained to interview the staff, volunteers and young people who have supported the Centre in its 50 year history, collecting and recording their oral histories. The project will also create a heritage education room at the Centre, enabling site users to explore the Centre’s history: handle artefacts, view the collection, listen to recorded oral histories and engage in a wider range of heritage activities aimed at young people.
