‘A Gateway to Lincoln’ Phase 1 Heritage Project

We want to build recognition of and visitor numbers to Southeast Lincoln's heritage, include that of the Southside site. First, we need to vision what this can be through developing a 5-year strategic plan in collaboration with local heritage custodians and our communities. This will result in the iterative creations of national quality heritage interpretations that are relevant to local people and visitors. We will secondly, demonstrate the potential of this vision by co-creating multi-sensory, inclusively designed interpretations of Southside site's important medieval heritage. Through robust partnerships, strategically planning, embedding heritage knowledge into our team (by appointing a Heritage Officer), training heritage volunteers, and local people learning new skills, we are demonstrating our commitment to this local heritage. Plus, providing an opportunity to harness our heritage as another tool for building our economical sustainability, conserving our grade II listed buildings, and continue contributing to Southeast Lincoln's cultural and economic growth.
