A radical approach to crafting the future of The Peace Museum

This transformational project will secure the future of the UK’s only museum dedicated to peace. Our relocation to Salts Mill has revealed both the power and vulnerability of our heritage: visitor numbers have grown exponentially, yet rising costs are not adequately reflected in our income. It is now imperative that the organisation itself must evolve to meet new demand. This project will strengthen the Museum’s foundations, creating a financially resilient, well-governed and environmentally responsible organisation that can sustain and share its unique heritage for the long term. We will define a clear mission, embed value-led practice across all we do, and develop the tools and skills needed to diversify income and reach new audiences. In doing so, we will safeguard stories at risk being lost, ensuring they continue to inspire change. The Peace Museum will emerge stronger, more sustainable, and central to Bradford’s cultural legacy beyond 2025.
