Historic Buildings
We will restore the church tower, which is in a critically poor state. Concurrently, intergenerational heritage works will employ film, art and dance to engage a wide range of people. Outputs, including an exhibition, public performance and short film will explore the heritage of church and community. By increasing engagement, saving All Saints becomes its future. Research forms the foundation of the project: evidence gathered by volunteers, from archives, libraries, discussions. Engaging schools, care homes, libraries, cafes, Hessle foreshore, will build a collection of 10 exhibited panels in tapestry, paint, mosaic: a large scale public participation project exploring heritage. We will develop movement workshops, creating, with local musicians and theatre groups, performance outputs encapsulating the heritage of Hessle Town and All Saints Church. A short film, by and for the community, will tell the history of the community through dancers (both trained and new), musicians and intergenerational groups
