Activate- Hidden Women of Hoxton

Inspired by the strong history of women at Hoxton Hall we will celebrate past female key holders of the building, female participants in community projects, girl’s groups and societies, or managers and residents of Hoxton Hall. We will “re-activate” the female led heritage of Hoxton Hall currently hidden behind walls, in unused spaces, cupboards, our local archive or in our community’s memories. We will use this heritage to “re-activate” our public spaces at Hoxton Hall into exhibitions using visual design to engage over 22,000 people annually and to ensure a legacy that the women of Hoxton Hall are not forgotten. What we will achieve: • Local communities will have increased knowledge and feel more engaged with Hoxton Hall’s heritage • Audiences and the wider public will have increased accessible access to our heritage through the reactivation of our public spaces. • Women’s heritage currently hidden is revealed.
