All Saints Drinkstone Bells Restoration

Our project aims to restore the bell-ringing heritage in the village of Drinkstone, a heritage comprising both the distinctive sound of the church's 'voice' across the local landscape, and the skills associated with the ancient tradition of English-style, full-circle change ringing. Drinkstone's church bells will be recast and rehung, and a band of local people will be taught to ring them, allowing bells to be rung once again to welcome congregations to church, to celebrate weddings and mark significant local and national events. Village residents and walkers on the local footpaths will again hear the iconic sound of the bells. Those willing to learn to ring will become part of a living heritage that can be passed on and benefit the community for generations to come. A renewed interest in the local church will be generated by the voluntary work on the project and by learning to ring.
