Historic Buildings
The church is the only community building in the village, following the loss of the church hall due to subsidence. Our long-term vision is to develop a much-needed community hub in the church, but to achieve this, we must first take urgent action to repair the building which was placed on the Heritage at Risk Register in 2024. This project focuses on the most pressing repairs to stop the significant water ingress - at times flooding. We will also take the opportunity to continue community engagement in order to develop plans for a vibrant community hub, this will include visits by local school children, a new web site and community events. This project is a vital first step to make the building safer and more welcoming, to sustain and build on the support and momentum created for the community hub and to demonstrate that positive change can happen in Elm.
