Historic Buildings
All Saints’ Church urgently requires major conservation to its tower, where water ingress and stone loss threaten the structure and safety of the building. Emergency stabilisation work has already taken place, but permanent repair is essential to prevent closure. This project will deliver critical conservation works to the medieval tower, preserving its architectural and spiritual significance at the heart of the village. Alongside capital repairs, a rich programme of heritage activities will bring new life to the site: “A Tower of Strength” will offer scaffolding tours and craft workshops; “Stories of All Saints” will use memorials and headstones to inspire family historians and schoolchildren; and a new “Nature & Heritage Trail” will blend biodiversity with local history. These initiatives will engage underrepresented audiences, grow volunteering, and create meaningful, lasting connections between people and place—securing the church’s future as a vibrant centre for worship, learning, and community.
