Historic Buildings
The 2021 quinquennial inspection reported that some of the stonework of the bell tower and church spire and some of the rainwater goods needed to be repaired and replaced in order to prevent further deterioration. If this work is not carried out there is a possibility that the deterioration of the stonework could effect the safety of those who visit the church. The cost of these repairs has been estimated at £252,000 and in order for the parish to meet these costs, we are applying to Heritage Lottery to help secure the future of this landmark building in the town of Antrim. It is through the presence of this building that its parishioners are encouraged in their outreach activities in the town and beyond. Their influence and generosity has helped shape a better future for the town. Securing the physical building will ensure that their influence and generosity will continue.
