An Organ For Glasgow (phase 3)

St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral seeks to secure a legacy of musical and cultural heritage through our £1.1m restoration of a historic Willis II organ, a nationally-significant instrument to be sited within our Category A listed building. This project safeguards Scotland’s tangible and intangible heritage, preserving the unique instrument, the long tradition of sacred choral and organ music, and the specialist skills of organ building for the community and the future. Restoring the organ to active use secures a living educational resource inspiring learning, creativity, and wellbeing for people of all ages and backgrounds. Building on our reputation for inclusive access, performance, and education, the project will deepen public understanding of this unique heritage, expand musical experience at the heart of community life, and, through our adult and children's choirs, school workshops and teaching links with leading conservatoires and universities, will deliver artistic, educational, and social benefits for generations to come.
