Bannockburn House Conservation and Restoration Phase 1 Project 1

Bannockburn House Trust (SCIO 047081 est. 2017) will deliver urgent conservation works to safeguard the historic roof, chimneys, and gables of Bannockburn House, a category A listed 17th century house of national and international importance with connections to tartan and Jacobite history. Bannockburn House is the site of the largest community-led heritage conservation project in Scotland. This project will prevent further decay, protect rare Baroque plasterwork and early painted panelling, prevent chimney collapse, as well as ensuring the building remains safe and weather-tight ahead of full conservation and restoration. The works will also create opportunities for public learning, skills development, and engagement. Volunteers will work alongside heritage professionals, gaining insight, skills, and confidence in conservation practice. Through this project we aim to protect irreplaceable heritage, meaningfully engage our community in conservation, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of one of Scotland's most significant community-owned historic sites.
