Historic Buildings
We intend to redevelop the derelict, Aberdeen based, historic monument known as Benholms Lodgings and open it to the public as a multi purpose facility with community cafe, meeting/exhibition space and coworker/rentable office areas. As a part of this wider development our conservation architect has identified a number of specific heritage elements which have been grouped together at the request of Aberdeen City Planners. This includes replacing all of the windows in the property with historically appropriate options and the restoration of both a 16th century sculpture embedded in the outer wall and armorial plaques from Sir Robert Keith of Benholm who had the tower originally built. We are not seeking funding from Heritage Lottery for the wider redevelopment works, but only for this specific heritage project.
