Benton End Revived

Benton End House and Gardens will be revived as a place of art, horticulture and learning inspired by Cedric and Lett’s vision of artistic freedom and self-empowerment – reimagined for the world today. Some 50 years after The East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing closed, Benton End will come to life with learning again. It will be an inspiration to artists and gardeners, as it was in the years when Cedric Morris and Arthur Lett-Haines turned a crumbling Tudor Manor House in a Suffolk river valley into one of the most important and influential art schools in the history of modern Britain. Benton End will become a destination for artists, garden enthusiasts, tourists, students of all ages and a haven for local volunteers. The house and gardens will be fully accessible to visitors with disabilities and access needs, allowing everyone the opportunity to enjoy the revived Benton End.
