Bradwell Windmill Restoration and Activation Project
Milton Keynes City Council (MKCC) will restore Bradwell’s Grade II listed Windmill to its former glory, interpreting its unique heritage, improving access and usability of the site for residents and visitors. The reimagined ground floor community space will offer a range of heritage, learning, training and volunteering activities which complement the cultural offer from delivery partners MK Museum (MKM) and New Bradwell Sports Association (NBSA). Activities along the ‘Railway Walk’ will help connect the Mill to neighbouring heritage sites, local people will explore and test new ways of interpreting and celebrating the area’s industrial history and its unique natural heritage for visitors. Investment now will secure the Mill’s long-term sustainability as a local heritage attraction and community asset in a priority area of need. With robust partnerships and a sustainable operating model in place, an important piece of local heritage will be saved for the use and enjoyment of all.
