‘Breathing New Life into our church, community and environment for a sustainable future’

By planning collaboratively, and building our strengths as a community, this heritage project is aimed at inspiring people, developing skills, and increasing a sense of custodianship whilst bringing generations together. Part of our mission is for people to enjoy celebrating heritage, enhancing awareness of the history of the buildings and architecture here, and environmental conservation issues. Our aim is to increase the number of local people involved in protecting heritage. Ecologically we will be developing the church grounds, increasing biodiversity and planting for pollinators. This project is also about improving the fabric of the building. We will replace the roof and improve the insulation in the roof, significantly reducing heat loss, and we will install solar panels. Materials will be sourced locally. All the renovations and environmental work will be documented in the learning resources made widely available in the town to support and encourage others.
