Building a Future for St James Over Darwen

St James Over Darwen is a vital part of its community, continuing a long history of social care to local people. Whilst we continue this mission, we face several issues to long-term sustainability. Our building needs major capital intervention. Our congregation is becoming more diverse, but the majority have low incomes and we have increasing costs without the funds to cover this. Our community values and treasures our building for the safe, peaceful, warming and inviting space it is, and the heritage story it offers to a community with no other heritage assets. A place of refuge and shelter as well as one of worship. This project is the first phase in addressing securing our future, by establishing a strong foundation and giving us the tools and resources needed. This project will enable us to be better equipped to serve our community, both now and through and in the future.
