Historic Buildings

Building on Blockley’s History

Blockley’s Grade II* Church sits at the heart of our community, as the centre of village celebrations and commemorations. The failure of the heating system threatens the already fragile fabric of the church and makes it unusable for five months of the year. The project will: ? install new sustainable heating, electrics, water supply and drainage ? conserve significant monuments at risk ? repair the fabric of the building, including the East window, porches and tower ? provide level access and an accessible toilet ? create a flexible nave and new community multipurpose space ? enable new interpretation about the church and Blockley’s heritage ? deliver heritage focused activities and events to attract under-served and core audiences ? enable long term, year-round engagement by a wider range of people and increased numbers of visitors ? develop a well-trained volunteering team to sustain the heritage and programmes for the future.
