Historic Buildings
Since 2020, having now stabilised the structural integrity of the damp damaged building, we can commence repurposing the 1760 Grade II former Methodist Chapel founded by John Wesley. Re-purposing would include the creation of an Exhibition Gallery, access and environmental measures and infrastructure during which period a “Revisiting Heritage” programme of activities would run throughout the development phase.- such as groups working with creative partners to record heritage stories in flagship art works, offering new volunteering opportunities, school workshops, pop up exhibitions, warehouse performances and events, all with a strong emphasis on community engagement, This would lead to the delivery phase, the archive and museum collection space being expanded five-fold throughout the new “Museum & Heritage Centre” eventually hosting learning, performance and event spaces, exhibition gallery and digital suite plus external Visitor Centre with all facilities plus a separate Changing Place Facility.
