Museums And Archives
We aspire to ensure that every Ceredigion resident, regardless of gender, ethnicity, beliefs, sexuality or ability, can find something in the museum’s permanent displays that resonates with the compassionate values that most people prioritise, and which underpin community cohesion and citizens’ wellbeing. Building on the work undertaken during the NLHF Development Phase of the 'Perthyn' project, we will creatively embed compassionate, values-based interpretation into our displays. This will support community cohesion, promote civic action on the climate crisis, enhance inclusion, and strengthen Ceredigion’s sense of place. We will ensure that currently underrepresented communities are offered meaningful opportunities to participate in shaping the permanent displays. Additionally, we will collaborate with climate focused organisations to explore how heritage can inspire and inform climate-positive action. This project will complement the £1.1million investment that Ceredigion County Council is undertaking to conserve the Grade II listed Coliseum Theatre, home to Ceredigion Museum’s permanent displays.
