Historic Buildings
Building on the legacy of our Gatty’s Gift project, this project will further engage our community in exploring and sharing the rich heritage of Emfield Hall (our Grade II listed community hub) and its original owner, Frederick Gatty, a prominent entrepreneur in the dying and textiles industries. A regenerated Heritage Group, involving our Arts and Sewing Groups which are legacies Gatty’s Gift, will expand on the Gatty’s Gift research, including aspects not previously possible due to Covid. They will also have an added focus on our communities’ stories and recent history, and that of Community Solutions. This group will coordinate research and use arts and crafts to create a collection to be curated throughout Elmfield Hall and online. Supporting this community engagement and Community Solutions’ other community support services, our project will dovetail with a significant Community Ownership Fund (COF) investment, to bring newly accessible spaces into use.
