Historic Buildings

CoNHBT: Towards an innovative BPT and a future for the Peoples Hall.

The City of Nottingham Historic Building Trust (CoNHBT) has two principal ambitions for this project; firstly to establish itself as a self-sufficient and well-governed Building Preservation Trust (BPT); secondly to have successfully operated the Grade II* listed Peoples Hall in Nottingham in a ‘meanwhile use’ state for the two year duration of this project. The degree of ‘success’ will be determined by the level of community engagement, the ‘buy-in’ of relevant key stakeholders and possible funders, establishing a robust BPT and longer-term aim of the restoration of the building. The two primary objectives above will be achieved through the recruitment of a Development Officer to oversee all executive functions of the CoNHBT and manage the project. Upon completion of the two-year period the Development Officer will be ready to submit Round 1 funding for a full restoration of the People’s Hall.
