Connected for Change: Building sustainable EDI practice within museums

Connected for Change will create a positive step change in EDI capacity across the South West museum sector by embedding sustainable practice where it matters most—within local networks and organisational culture. Building on the proven success of Travelling and Growing Together, this project will extend impact beyond 13 cohort museums to reach 100 museums, engaging over 300 participants. The project will have South West area reach across expert training and EDI Peer Champion networks and include working with MDOs through hyper local networks across the West Country, where EDI museum development has lower engagement. Our approach moves beyond short-term interventions to create lasting change. Investing in existing and recruiting more EDI Peer Champions, connecting them to Museum Development Officers and local museum networks, Train the Trainer, and specialist EDI expertise, we will leave a legacy of empowered practitioners and resilient networks that continue to drive inclusion beyond the project funding.
