We will purchase, display and interpret a rare mid-17th century watch that has a strong provenance to have belonged to Oliver Cromwell. This is only one of two watched in existence that are believed to have belonged to him, which we will add to the collections of the Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon. This will enable us to not only help tell more about his life and attract more visitors, but generate educational activities, sessions and content which can be used for the STEM curriculum in schools. The project will include the purchase of the watch, a display case, materials for learning and events, and a related programme of activity. This will be evaluated by an external consultant. This is a high profile acquisition which has already had a lot of public interest and support.
