David Livingstone Trust – Building Resilience

Recovery and stabilisation of the David Livingstone Trust following a significant capital claim, not of our making, some 7 months/years after the close down of the previous Heritage Grant supported project, which has left us financially vulnerable. Support for our small hard-pressed team to build resilience and strengthen operational efficiency. Build our capacity for growth in delivering heritage, education, and community programmes. Augment our team with fundraising support to increase charitable grants, benefactor contributions and donations income. Undertake a commercial review of the Centre and café operations to identify efficiencies and new revenue streams. Review the Blantyre Hydro opportunity to demonstrate innovation in green energy within our community and assess the opportunities for income generation to support the museum. Appoint a consultant to help us refresh our strategy, ensuring we have the skills, systems and direction to overcome these challenges and secure the Trust’s future.
