Derby Dungeons and Dragons

The library is seeking to secure its future by increasing footfall. We aim to reach new audiences and appeal to a broader cross-section of the local population. We wish to raise the profile of the library by creating an engaging digital presence, including a series of short video guides, introducing the library, de-mystifying a typical visit, demonstrating how to access resources and showcasing the collection. We are particularly keen on engaging with a younger audience. We would like to explore ways we can make local history more relevant to young people’s lives, by taking it to spaces they already occupy and repackaging / re-contextualising primary sources to tie into their existing interests. We wish to produce a long-lasting resource that achieves this and provides opportunities for ongoing engagement. We also wish to trial these methods and evaluate their effectiveness with a view to pursuing further work in this direction.
