Developing the Future Museum Workforce
Scotland's museums and galleries are set to embark on a pioneering journey towards sustainability with the launch of Museum Futures, a new partnership programme developed by the Scottish Government, Museums Galleries Scotland, and The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Scottish Government will invest £4m to accelerate the collaboration, innovation, and organisational sustainability that is needed to enable positive, strategic change across the sector so that museums and galleries can continue to enrich our local communities now and for generations to come. This application seeks to secure £250k from NLHF as a contribution towards a complementary programme of support for Scotland's museums participating in the programme, to build the skills in the workforce that are essential to the future sustainability of museum organisations and their ability to care for collections and share them with communities.
