Historic Buildings
Watershed is a cross art form cultural venue based in a grade II listed building, located in Bristol city centre on its historic harbourside. The building brings people together from many different communities across Bristol and beyond. Watershed is yet to fully explore its heritage, or the heritage of its harbourside location. This project will enable us to begin engaging our building users and communities in Bristol in the important issues our heritage raises in an inclusive/caring way. Our building causes the largest portion of our carbon footprint, has a leaky roof letting rainwater in and inefficient windows which lose heat/carbon. Our heritage building needs conservation/retrofit so that it is fit for the future, is as environmentally sustainable as possible and is a welcoming and inviting space that all want to visit. This project will enable us to undertake discovery/feasibility work for a large-scale conservation, regenerative design and retrofit project.
