Historic Buildings
Winterbourne Medieval Barn is a building of national significance and a major refurbishment was completed in 2020 to enable it to operate as a Community and Heritage Centre. The Barn is now fully functional and operates a series of successful community events and workshops, as well as a commercial hire programme which ensures sustainability of the Trust. The roof structure is of particular significance. The Barn was constructed in 1342 and the majority of the roof structure is original. Recent surveys have identified that there is a major problem with one of the roof trusses which requires urgent repair to prevent damage to the roof. Without repair this wonderful building could suffer significant damage.
