Exeter Heritage Champions

Our project vision is to reach people who currently feel excluded from Exeter’s heritage, by creating accessible and useful new volunteer roles across the city, supported by a revitalised and resilient Heritage Partnership. Exeter Heritage Partnership (EHP) began in 2018, as an informal network of partners interested in co-ordinating between heritage institutions in the city. So far, most of its work has focused on joint programming for the annual Heritage Open Days festival. This grass-roots Partnership is now seeking funding which will allow us to formalise and develop EHP into a sustainable organisation that champions heritage and manages a coordinated volunteering programme and training offer across all Partners. This investment will enable us to expand our pilot into the Exeter Heritage Champions (EHC) programme, increase capacity for the Project Co-ordinator to support prospective and existing volunteers and partners, and extend the training package, developing skills for participants and host organisations.
