Eyam Museum Options Project

In our 30th anniversary year, the Eyam Museum Options Project (EMOP) will deliver a comprehensive strategy to future-proof Eyam Museum (EM) as a thriving, public resource. Building on our track record of success and our context of financial security, the EMOP will conduct a detailed audience consultation, providing us with the data to identify and better understand our audiences and their priorities. This research, alongside comparator analysis of similar organisations, will determine operational best practice for EM, including a revitalisation of its visitor experience, interpretation strategy, business model and its physical building. The project will outline the best route forward to prepare the museum for the future. It will propose how to scale up our offer, complementing the museum’s role as a visitor attraction with its function as a key community asset, removing access barriers to heritage, and driving impact and change with and for our audiences.
