Facing the Future at St Faith’s - Dorstone Settlement Timeline Project

Our project’s legacy will be a brighter, warmer, more comfortable, multi-purpose church building, where a wider range of people can learn about Dorstone’s history through an inclusive activity programme and an engaging interpretation scheme. To achieve this, the Friends of St Faith’s will work with local contractors, heritage consultants and volunteers to: - install energy-efficient heating and lighting, and accessible WC and kitchen facilities at St Faith’s Church - remove ten sets of pews to create a larger, more flexible space at the rear of the nave - deliver a 21 month programme of heritage activity - research, design and provide multi-layered content for a new, permanent interpretation scheme These project outputs will connect new and existing audiences to 6000 years of local history, or, more specifically, the ‘Dorstone Settlement Timeline’: the archaeological, architectural, natural and social heritage of Dorstone during the Neolithic, Medieval and Modern eras.
