Fashion Museum Bath

A new Fashion Museum, welcoming 250,000 visits annually and 400,000 online, will be established in Bath city centre, within its UNESCO World Heritage Site. Saving world-class heritage, the Museum will be a catalyst for change, revitalising its Designated Collection through new gallery and learning spaces. It will inspire and challenge through fashion, exploring it as an artform and global industry, whilst celebrating the creativity of designers, makers, and wearers, and providing learning, skills, digital and wellbeing programmes. Originally opened in 1963 in Bath’s Assembly Rooms, its forced closure in 2022, led to the acquisition of the 1927 Grade II-listed Old Post Office in Bath’s historic Milsom Quarter, presenting an opportunity to reimagine a museum on the high street regenerating through culture. This £38.4m project will be an exemplar of environmental sustainability, driving socio-economic change and placemaking, supporting disadvantaged communities across the region and providing a welcoming, accessible space for all.
