Finding the lost Manors of Harlaxton.

Finding the lost Manors of Harlaxton is a Community archaeology project run entirely by volunteers of the Harlaxton History Society. Our project is driven by a tight set of archaeological aims designed to establish what remains of the old manor houses lie buried and specifically where in our village. As well as involving a wide range of people in the community as volunteers, we also plan to use the site as a teaching resource for secondary schools in the area. At the end of the geophysical and excavation research phases we will share our findings through our social media and award winning web site, through public talks and lectures and through interpretive boards placed in the village. It is also hoped that this work will assist with applications for listing and scheduling of the site to ensure its future protection.
