The Fit For The Future project will repurpose an existing space, creating a commercial spec garage that can complete customer work, up to a specified level of competency (routine maintenance and light repairs), with a specific focus on heritage vehicles. This will allow us to bringing the skills to care for heritage vehicles in-house, and better care for our own collection; generate self-sustaining revenue through customer work and provide a bespoke space for teaching heritage vehicle skills to others through our Heritage Skills Programme, alongside a Tool Library to support skill building and sharing. This will be transformative for Grampian Transport Museum, allowing us to connect with new audiences and remain relevant to existing audiences, through the garage, library and workshops - driving additional footfall and generating additional revenue at a time when it is most needed.
