From Prejudice to Prides is a project aimed at preserving the at risk LGBTQ+ history of Cheshire by documenting the lived experiences of the community's population. This initiative seeks to collect oral histories, personal artifacts, and multimedia to build a comprehensive archive. Key partnerships will be formed between the Cheshire LGBTQ+ Pride Network and the Museums of Cheshire Network to integrate these stories into broader historical narratives and collections. The project also focuses on engaging residents who feel disconnected from their local history by enhancing their sense of belonging. Training programmes will empower LGBTQ+ volunteers with the skills needed for historical preservation, ensuring they can actively contribute to and curate their legacies. From Prejudice to Prides not only safeguards LGBTQ+ heritage but also strengthens community ties and cultural representation, creating a lasting impact that fosters inclusivity and pride across generations in Cheshire.
