Historic Buildings
St Peter’s Church, Redmile is a focal point for the community and the only available village communal space. It is a beloved building, providing a fantastic space for community events and religious festivals. Unfortunately, due to a number of longer-term structural issues the current insurer declined to provide cover for any events or activities in the Church until these are addressed, meaning the Church is currently temporarily closed. The purpose of our overarching project is threefold: Carry out essential structural repairs and remove St Peter’s, Redmile from the Heritage at Risk Register. Re-open church and reinstate an essential community space. Preserve the heritage of a much loved grade II* listed church building. This application is for Phase 1 of our overarching project; to enable us to appoint various professionals to agree scope, phasing and costings of the required works, giving clarity to a subsequent Phase 2 application for capital works.
