Future Preparedness: Climate-Related Environmental Management Programme
MD North supports museums across the north of England and is managed by a partnership between York Museums Trust, Manchester Museums Partnership, Cumbria Museum Consortium and North East Museums. MD North will deliver a Future Preparedness programme enabling museums in the North of England to: -Respond to and prepare for current and future climate disruptions through training, grants and support -Take a data driven approach to understand and manage environmental risks -Take a holistic approach to sustainable management to better protect buildings, estates and collections now and for the future -Pursue mitigation, adaptation and resilience to inform climate action strategies for future sustainability -Develop effective emergency plans, responding to current and future risks -Develop skills in collections salvage following environmental incidents? -Access funding, advice and peer support opportunities to progress plans for long-term resilience -Secure and collate data and information needed for advocacy and to secure capital funding
