We want to remove social barriers and create a People's History of Great Yarmouth. The project would achieve a greater cohesiveness within the local community, bringing different backgrounds, ages and cultures together. The result would be a series of 4 short videos (each 10-15 minutes long) telling the story of parts of the town as dictated by the people within the project and utilising unique and hitherto unseen heritage items. An exhibition would support the videos and further publicise them. Thus, through tangible outcomes, the project would achieve greater wellbeing and "joined up thinking" within the local community. If it goes well, we would like to develop the concept further to produce more videos in the future with our nucleus of volunteers.
