#Grow – HEY! Volunteering Coastal Heritage

The key workforce challenge we will address through the growth phase of the project is the uptake, management and sustainability of volunteering across the heritage sector. Through this ‘Grow’ application we will expand and further develop the HEY! Volunteering Project, using all the learnings and impacts of the previous HIF modules, to grow existing heritage-based volunteering and develop a brand-new destination specific volunteer programme within East Yorkshire. The legacy of the programme will provide Hull and East Yorkshire with a coastal heritage-based volunteering programme, stretching from Goole in the South of the region, through Hull to Bridlington in the North. This project will provide a blueprint to other destinations to support the recruitment, training, deployment and retention of volunteers, which will sustain localised heritage across a geographic area and address workforce challenges across localities.
