Halo Heating and Feature Lighting at Stamford All Saints’ Church: Sustaining Community Access to Local Heritage

Our oil-fired heating system was condemned in 2023. This put our Grade 1 listed building, within England’s first conservation area, at stake. To preserve this peerless heritage, we were forced to look for alternatives. Our chosen solution is to install the Halo infrared heating chandeliers, which are energy-efficient, can be used flexibly heating the space as required, and aligns with the Church of England’s net zero carbon goals. Powered by green tariff electricity, the system replaces existing chandeliers, so unlocking an upgraded lighting scheme. This allows us to highlight key architectural features and enhance performances of all kinds. The project will also remove obsolete radiators and unsightly pipework – some at high levels – which detract from the historic fabric. The building will also be redecorated. These improvements will enhance the comfort, sustainability, and usability of the space for maintaining and widening community access, while preserving its architectural heritage.
