Hanes mewn harddwch: revealing a prehistoric ritual landscape in North-East Wales

The Clwydian Range Archaeology Group / Grwp Archeoleg Bryniau Clwyd (CRAG/GABC) will survey, excavate, record and publish a significant prehistoric ritual landscape in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape near Bryneglwys, Denbighshire. Archived results of the project will preserve for posterity a heritage site currently hidden, essentially unknown, and at risk of being forgotten. Incorporation of the archived knowledge into both academic and popular narratives by CRAG/GABC and other institutions will permanently embed the site’s story into accounts of prehistoric communities’ interactions with the landscape of North-East Wales for audiences that include archaeologists, local communities, schools, and visitors to the National Landscape. Bilingual talks, open days, school workshops, exhibitions, and active participation of trained local volunteers in leadership, management and implementation of the project will promote the long-term sustainability of CRAG/GABC and its model for Community Archaeology, increasing capacity for saving heritage in the region.
