Henry Tudor Centre:Exhibition Fit Out and Community Engagement Programme

We will raise the profile of Henry Tudor, born in Pembroke in 1457, subsequently Henry VII, and his descendants, specifically their Welsh roots, not currently widely recognised, told or understood locally or by visitors, through creation of a Henry Tudor Centre. Our Centre will explain Henry’s story - a Pembroke story - his impact on our national story, Welsh culture and our wider British heritage. There is enthusiasm locally to hear this story, and to grow pride in Henry as a son of Pembroke who took Welsh language to the English court and went on to achieve the greatest prize – the Welsh and English crown. Our project will allow local people to tell that story proudly, and to draw 30,000 visitors a year. We will create multiple opportunities for transformative engagement for locals, visitors and priority groups with activities and volunteering creating, economic and community benefits.
