‘Heritage At The Heart - St Michaels and All Angels’

Our project aims to secure the fabric of St Michael and All Angels ruin in Bowthorpe which is in urgent need of repair and to use this opportunity to initiate a series of community skills training, learning and wellbeing activities, with a focus on supporting young people. This activity programme will be targeted at specific needs as identified through our consultations, including: *Offering training and skills opportunities to young people, liaising with the Architect and contractor and working in partnership with local schools and colleges *Hosting a day conference for students entitled ‘Preserving the Past, Ensuring the Future’, exploring funding, conserving, maintaining and interpreting a medieval building *Facilitating activities showcasing the culture and history of asylum seekers and refugees *Linking St Michael’s to a series of local walking and cycling trails *Creating a Sensory Trail for all ages around the ruin and adjacent garden in partnership with local schools.
