Heritage Conservation: A Resilient and Engaging Future
Through Heritage Conservation: A Resilient and Engaging Future, Icon aims to connect the public with their shared cultural heritage through conservation. Icon exists to ensure conservation reaches wider audiences and shapes a heritage sector accessible for all. There is currently heightened public interest in conservation – its role in caring for heritage and the insight it provides into stories and lives from the past. Through this project Icon is committed to enabling many more people, from diverse audiences and backgrounds, to access, engage with and be inspired by heritage through a conservation lens. By building capacity, training and developing staff and volunteers, ‘Heritage Conservation: A Resilient and Engaging Future’ will establish resilient structures, create a sustainable programme, and deliver positive impact for audiences UK-wide. As a vital element of the heritage sector, conservation is critically important in ensuring heritage is accessible, engaging and can inspire wider audiences into the future.
