Museums And Archives
An ambitious 18-month programme of digital development designed as an action research pilot to: - Build digital capacity in the rural heritage sector - Support digital creativity, innovation and experimentation in heritage - Connect rural heritage organisations with a wider audience and with each other. The project will support a new network of 9 Highlands and Islands heritage organisations to address shared challenges in engaging audiences and developing sustainable business models. Supported by The Space, Museums and Heritage Highland and Google Arts and Culture they will test new digital approaches and build digital skills and confidence. Sharing stories related to their distinctive heritage, they will work with local communities, digital producers and marketing specialists to create and distribute new digital works and content to engage audiences, particularly those currently under-represented in heritage. This will generate learning and models for use by other rural heritage organisations across Scotland and UK.
