Historic Buildings
The greatest barrier to delivering the massive opportunity that is Torbay Heritage Place is human resource within Torbay Council’s Culture & Events team and a lack of clear understanding about the wider supporting infrastructure to deliver culture and heritage across Torbay. To address these obstacles, we seek funds to recruit: a full time Project Officer and a full time Grant Writer for Torbay Heritage Place. To better understand the mechanism for delivering culture and heritage across Torbay, we seek a contribution towards an independent review of the cultural and heritage infrastructure in Torbay. Further, as Torbay Council has recently taken back ownership of one of Torquay’s most cherished heritage buildings, Torquay Pavilion, we seek a contribution towards a full Options Appraisal, which will determine a clear path forward for its restoration and sustainable future use as a valued public heritage asset.
