The Pathways to the past: Involving volunteers and connecting communities in Neath Port Talbot to their heritage project is focused on working with heritage organisations within the County Borough of Neath Port Talbot. We will work with them to co-produce a model for volunteering between citizens and heritage sites. With the aim of taking people on a journey to encourage new and different people to begin their volunteering journey at heritage organisations. We will develop a volunteer toolkit to support heritage organisations to recruit and retain volunteers of all different ages and backgrounds. We will utilise a community engagement approach to enable all types of people to understand and connect with heritage. Working closely with NPT Council and aligning with their Heritage Strategy broadening awareness and increasing visitors to the sites. All of this will build a foundation to provide heritage organisations with a sustainable volunteer base for the future.
