#HP PoC Sauchiehall Street Culture and Heritage District

This Proof of Concept phase proposal presents the opportunity to focus on the significance of the built heritage in the overall project arc of Sauchiehall Street: Culture and Heritage District (SSCHD). Through cross-sector partnership working we will develop strategic built heritage interventions, an interpretation strategy, and culture and heritage driven programming to include: - Sustainable and innovative renewal of heritage assets and buildings - Pilot improvement of shop frontages; - Create a model for a community archive; - Build community resilience; - Uncover and animate more heritage stories; - Leverage wider strategic opportunity, innovation and investment. Together these programmes will help us realise the full potential of Sauchiehall Street as a Culture and Heritage District and Heritage Place with an embedded vision and framework. We will test how a culture and heritage led approach can activate a different model for the city and unlock new opportunities as a real driver for long term change.
