Historic Buildings

#HP Sir Moses Montefiore Memorial Synagogue, Grimsby

Through the project an accurate understanding of the current condition of the Synagogue will be gained. The updated structural and condition surveys will allow an informed approach for future works and will enable accurate specification of works and costings for funding the repairs. On completion of this project, an application for the next phase of funding can be submitted using the information. This in combination with the emergency repairs will safeguard the Synagogue until the next phase of work preventing deterioration in the interim. It is also essential that the Synagogue has an asbestos survey, something that is urgently required before use can resume. Grimsby falls within one of the highest areas of poverty within the UK; by gaining insight through trial activities, events and talks we would ascertain what services and social events are lacking in the area and promote organisational sustainability through effective use of the community space.
