#HP Window to 1913: Restoring 9-29 Victoria Street, Grimsby
Our ambition is to deliver an iconic heritage-led regeneration scheme at the Former House of Fraser (FHOF) department store in the heart of Grimsby’s Central Conservation Area. It will expand upon the successful Heritage Action Zone, amplify Levelling Up Fund investment and create the foundations for future heritage investment in Grimsby, a Heritage Place. Through the project, we will: • Better understand the architectural, historical and social value of the FHOF building to share with stakeholders and the community • Replace the 1970s shopfront with one inspired by the 1920s Guy & Smith shopfront. • Explore and celebrate the heritage of the FHOF building, and Victoria Street, through the delivery of an engaging participatory programme of events and activities • Generate interest and support in a future area-based scheme for Grimsby • Maintain benefits and outcomes through webpages, continued engagement with community groups and stakeholders, and activation of the building by new tenants
